  The house is very cozy and charming. Kitchen and bathroom updated and modern. Can't beat the choice of bay beach and ocean beach. We had one night of late noise from neighbors but shutting the bedroon slider helped! And we really appreciate the new mattress topper - made sleeping great!

  Very accomodating for a last minute booking, would definitely stay again! Completely walkable area, you don't need a car at all, unless you want to go sightseeing. On our last day we saw about 20 dolphins swimming around in the ocean. Great trip!

  My husband and I enjoyed a wonderful nine night stay at this Mission Beach area cottage. It was perfect for two people and in a great location. Even though the first few days it was raining, this did not affect our stay. There is so much to do in San Diego and area.
  
  We were extremely comfortable and appreciated the coziness of the fire each evening. There was ample storage and a walk in closet so we could fully unpack and feel at home. The washer and dryer is a bonus feature in vacation rentals.
  We have stayed in many vacation rentals and this one is near the top of our list.
  
  When we are on vacation we NEVER eat at the same place twice but loved The Mission so much for breakfast we ate there three times!
  
  The proximity to the beach and bay was perfect for long walks / runs and we greatly enjoyed the cruiser bikes and ventured all the way to Scripps Park in La Jolla one day.
  
  We would, without hesitation, recommend this property for a couple. We have great memories from our special time spent at Cheryl's Cozy Cottage in December 2010.

  Good visit, generally relaxing and refreshing for us. Only downer was loud party by neighbors on Sat night, but that's part of life in Mission Beach. Cottage itself was very comfortable and convenietly located to beach and restaurants.

  This was my first trip to San Diego. I went with my boyfriend, who has been there before. We both thought the house was in the perfect location for everything. You can ride the bikes to lots of shops, restaurants and the walk/bike path along the beach. The hottub was perfect. The house was the perfect size for us. There is a hair dryer, for all those that are wondering - which I didn't see listed on the description. I would definitely stay here again if I am back in San Diego!

  This place is very cute and steps away from Bay Side. The positives are it's clean and modern. Even though it's small, they have made pretty good use of the limited space with lots of shelves and cabinets. Even though it's located on a main side street off of Mission Blvd, it is pretty quiet, too. It's perfectly sized for two people.
  
  The negatives are the bed and the sewer type smell. The bed was pretty stiff. A tempurpedic topper would help quite a bit. The sewer type smell would go away once the windows were open and air was allowed to circulate. One other downside to the place, is there is not really any outdoor places to hang out and see views.
  
  Overall, it met our needs, and the price was reasonable. We would recommend it to our friends with the above items mentioned to take into consideration.

  We were very happy to stay at the Beach Bay Cottage. Simply great location, not far from anything. The house is very romantic and is indeed a top place to stay as a couple.
  The hot tube was awesome and the hardline Internet connection worked without any problems.
  We were challenged by the small garrage and had a hard time parking, but with some skills and cooperation, we managed.

  A few things about our stay were fantastic, though a few were annoying. First, location is great, steps from the beach and bay. Cottage is set up well, with small well-outfitted, galley-style kitchen, nice sitting area (living room), dining area, bedroom, even a laundry room. All were clean and well appointed.None of the amenities were particularly "upscale," but it did feel like home for a week.
  The bad part: the TV remote didn't work, at all. Imagine how this would bum you out at home. It clearly wasn't just for our stay and it really misrepresents the place as "just like home." I'd have to fix this at home; they clearly haven't bothered here.
  Also, the sliding glass door in the bedroom was broken. Not a biggie, but it limited the air circulation (since several windows had no screens, we didn't leave them open at night).
  Final issue: hot tub is pretty lame, a step above a heated kiddie pool, and guest are expected to test and regulate the chemicals in water. Fogetaboutit!

    Dear David, Thank you for staying with us and thank you so much for your comments. Cheryls Cozy Cottage is one of our favored properties with many guests returning several times each year. It was unfortunate that the TV remote was not repairable during your visit, as it had to be special ordered for that specific T.V. Thankfully the Cable remote was working to allow you to still change channels with the remote. Also the slider required a special order part which was not available for repair during your short visit. We do offer our guests the opportunity to check chemicals for the hot tub so that they can be assured the tub chemicals are at proper levels. We do have our cleaning staff and home inspector also check the chemicals and change the water as needed before and after our guests depart so that we do not have to disturb anyone during their visit. We certainly will come over and check chemicals if requested from our guests. I am sorry you were not completely satisfied with your visit and we hope to have the opportunity to service you in the future. We do offer another cottage that has a full size Jacuzzi rather than a soft tub hot tub if that is our preference! Thank you for staying with us and once agan we appreciate your comments.   About as pleasant of a stay as one could as for with the Sandy Beach Rental cottage. Perfect location just a few steps in either direction to the bay or beach.   Cheryl's Cozy Cottage was a great find. Would not recommend it for a stay with kids but perfect for a couple. The kitchen has everything you would need to cook/bake a good meal. The fireplace was great for our November trip. And the hot tub was also nice for those cooler evenings. Literally steps away from the bay or the beach and easy to get to Downtown as well as beautiful La Jolla. My only complaint would be the shower is very small and the bathroom sink is literally the size of a salad bowl. Hard to use without getting water on the floor. Very minor complaint overall for a wonderful stay.

  The cottage was wonderful. A few steps to the bay, and less than a block from the beach. The cottage was very clean as was the whole bay area. The bikes were fun to ride, and the beach chairs were perfect. Our trip was incredibly relaxing and we would stay in this cottage again. We were thankful Sandy Beach Rentals alerted us to the parking concerns. Parking is very tight, so having the garage with this cottage was ideal. There was rarely space to park on the street.

  We will definitely return and have already referred the cottage to another Los Angeles family. The only slight issue was the back porch patio light was burnt out and the parking space in the garage was VERY tight (especially when vehicles parked in the driveway behind us), but at least we had parking! :) Left info about Balboa Park (our son loves trains and was floored when we visited the Train Museum) and met a local artist Sherry who teaches Chinese Calligraphy and gives private lessons out of her shop on Mission. Loved the Mission cafe! The beach, the bay, Saskies sushi, Seaworld fireworks... too much to mention and lots more to see!

  Overall had a great experience! The home was small but well stocked and nicely decorated. No TV in the bedroom was a bummer, as the couch wasn't that comfy to lounge on, but not a big thing. Just a note, the lint screen in the dryer was extremely clogged with lint and needs to be vacuumed behind the screen, but there was no attachment on the vacuum, cleaned is as best I could as it was taking a long time to dry clothes. Also, the jacuzzi water was a little cloudy, we ran fresh water into it and cleaned it out a bit. The location was great for not being right on the beach, close to both sides. Put a guest book in the house for us to write in!

  This is the second time we stayed in this rental. They have made some nice changes since our first visit and plan on staying there again. The only issue is the parking. You have a garage assigned for your car and we could use this easily (we knew ahead of time the size). The issues is the cars that park out front park so close at times you can't get out the front door and walkway without some maneuvering. Getting the bikes from storage to the street can be a challenge. Over all we love it and wished we owned it ourselves.
